Learning Support Assistant – High Needs SEND Support, temp to perm, full time, starting September 2026

Learning Support Assistant Duties:
  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with high needs
  • Supporting learning, communication, and social development
  • Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
  • Implementing guidance from the SENCO and teaching staff
  • Encouraging independence and engagement in learning
  • Building positive relationships with the pupil, staff, and parents
  • Supporting the child's wellbeing and ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively
Ideal Learning Support Assistant:
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND
  • Experience working with high-needs pupils is highly desirable
  • Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities
  • Commitment to making a positive difference in a child's educational journey
