Location: New Zealand Full-time

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Services Manager to lead the operational, commercial and technical performance of a national electrical trades business.

This is a senior leadership role suited to an experienced electrical professional who understands both the technical side of the trade and the commercial realities of running a profitable operation. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, engineering, sales and project teams to deliver quality work, manage costs and grow the business.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the performance of the electrical services operation across New Zealand, including:

  • Leading day-to-day operations, forecasting, reporting and project delivery
  • Managing revenue, margins, budgets, costs and cash flow
  • Overseeing electrical works from tender and pricing through to final delivery
  • Monitoring labour, materials, subcontractors and project performance
  • Maintaining strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, contractors and external stakeholders
  • Supporting business development and identifying new commercial opportunities
  • Working with senior leadership on strategic plans, budgets and business improvement
  • Providing technical leadership to electrical teams and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Leading, developing and recruiting staff while building a strong team culture
  • Working closely with HR, Finance, H&S, Quality, Sales and Engineering teams
What You’ll Bring
  • Trade-qualified and registered electrician
  • Strong industrial electrical background with experience operating at an Operations Manager / senior management level
  • Proven experience managing electrical services, projects or trades operations
  • Strong commercial understanding, including budgets, forecasting, margins, pricing and financial reporting
  • Experience managing teams, subcontractors and multiple projects
  • Strong client relationship, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Sound understanding of health, safety and quality requirements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Confident communication skills across technical, operational and executive audiences
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
What Success Looks Like

You’ll be expected to deliver a safe, profitable and well-run electrical operation, with strong project performance, healthy client relationships and a capable team.

You’ll also play an important role in improving operational efficiency, developing people, supporting business growth and identifying opportunities to strengthen the organisation’s position in the market.

The Person

We’re looking for someone commercially minded who can lead from the front. You’ll be comfortable making decisions, managing competing priorities and holding teams accountable while maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Health and safety leadership is a key part of the role, with responsibility for ensuring strong risk management, incident reporting, compliance and continuous improvement across the operation.
