Clientis looking to expand its HVDC Advisory Team with an experienced Electrical Engineer specialising in HVDC, FACTS, high-voltage transmission, or related power electronics technologies.The role will provide technical consulting expertise across the full lifecycle of HVDC and FACTS projects, including concept development, feasibility studies, design reviews, construction support, commissioning, operational support, and asset management. Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing engineering consultancy services across HVDC, FACTS, high-voltage transmission, and cable projects.
  • Supporting technical due diligence, feasibility assessments, conceptual design, cost estimation, and specification development.
  • Reviewing designs, witnessing factory testing, and supporting construction and commissioning activities.
  • Providing technical advice on operational issues, incident investigations, upgrades, replacements, and asset performance improvement.
  • Supporting client engagement, tender submissions, and business development activities.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continued growth of the HVDC advisory capability.
This is an opportunity to work alongside recognised industry experts on some of the region’s most significant energy transition projects. THE CANDIDATE:The ideal candidate will be an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in HVDC, FACTS, high-voltage transmission, power electronics, protection, control systems, or similar complex energy infrastructure technologies.Required experience:
  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering HVDC and/or FACTS projects, or closely related high-voltage transmission technologies.
  • Experience across project development, delivery, commissioning, or operational phases.
  • Strong consulting, stakeholder management, and client-facing experience.
  • Ability to manage technical deliverables, project budgets, schedules, and quality outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support less experienced engineers.
  • Australian working rights and ability to travel to client/project sites.
