SEND Operational Lead needed in East London Paying £258 per day ref 131309
Full time hours on a temporary basis
Key Responsibilities
Property Procurement and Landlord Engagement- Develop and maintain relationships with private landlords, letting agents, and property professionals.
- Generate new property leads through landlord networks, online property portals, advertising, referrals, and direct outreach.
- Negotiate rental levels and incentive packages to secure affordable accommodation.
- Promote Lambeth Council's Private Renting Scheme and associated services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date landlord and property records.
- Inspect private rented properties to assess suitability and compliance with relevant standards.
- Identify disrepair issues, health and safety hazards, and property improvements required.
- Produce property inspection reports and make recommendations regarding suitability.
- Ensure properties are advertised and allocated efficiently.
- Arrange and conduct accompanied viewings with prospective tenants.
- Assess applicants' suitability for private rented accommodation.
- Match households to available properties based on housing needs and affordability.
- Provide advice and guidance on tenancy rights and responsibilities.
- Support residents with Universal Credit and Housing Benefit applications where required.
- Assist tenants in setting up rent payments and preparing for tenancy commencement.
- Work closely with Housing Advisors, Homelessness Prevention Officers, Temporary Accommodation teams, and external partners.
- Liaise with Empty Property Officers, Home Improvement Agencies, and enforcement teams to maximise housing opportunities.
- Represent the service at landlord forums, housing events, and stakeholder meetings.
- Maintain accurate case records using housing management systems.
- Authorise financial assistance and incentive payments in accordance with Council policies.
- Ensure compliance with homelessness legislation, housing regulations, and fraud prevention requirements.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and team objectives.
