Senior Traffic Engineer needed Paying £25.37 per hr ref 136308
Full time hours on a temporary basis
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Design and Delivery- Lead and/or support the progression of engineering projects in accordance with agreed programmes and priorities.
- Design, manage and implement a range of transportation and infrastructure schemes, including:
- Traffic management projects
- Road safety initiatives
- Cycling infrastructure improvements
- Bus priority measures
- Liveable neighbourhood schemes
- School Streets and Play Streets programmes
- Public realm enhancement projects
- Manage projects through feasibility, design, consultation, implementation and completion stages.
- Monitor project budgets, timescales and risks to ensure successful delivery.
- Provide professional engineering advice on highways, transportation and public realm matters.
- Manage and progress highway and civil engineering issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Investigate and respond to technical enquiries, complaints and requests for information.
- Ensure engineering solutions comply with relevant legislation, standards, policies and best practice guidance.
- Act as a technical specialist for highways and transportation engineering matters.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Review engineering designs and provide recommendations to support decision-making.
- Ensure statutory and legal obligations are fulfilled in a customer-focused and efficient manner.
- Deputise for the Principal Engineer when required.
- Provide supervision, guidance and technical support to team members.
- Contribute to staff training, mentoring and performance development activities.
- Promote collaborative working and knowledge sharing across teams.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of highways and transportation services.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and improved customer outcomes.
- Support the implementation of new processes, policies and service improvements.
- Promote best practice in project management, engineering design and service delivery.
