Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly organised and analytical Waste Data Officer to support the effective delivery of waste and recycling services through accurate data management, performance monitoring, and operational reporting.
Working closely with operational teams, the successful candidate will collect, analyse, and report on service data to support performance improvement, compliance monitoring, and informed decision-making. This role is ideal for someone with experience in waste management, environmental services, or data analysis who possesses excellent Excel skills and a strong attention to detail.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Management and Analysis- Collect, validate, maintain, and analyse waste and recycling data from various operational systems.
- Produce accurate and timely reports on service performance, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Monitor data quality and ensure information is recorded consistently and accurately.
- Identify patterns, issues, and opportunities for service improvement through data analysis.
- Support the development and maintenance of performance dashboards and management reports.
- Monitor operational performance across waste collection, recycling, and related environmental services.
- Assist in tracking service delivery against performance targets and contractual requirements.
- Produce regular reports highlighting performance outcomes, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support managers in reviewing operational efficiency and productivity.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with waste legislation, environmental regulations, and internal policies.
- Prepare statutory and management information reports as required.
- Support audits, inspections, and performance reviews through the provision of accurate data and evidence.
- Maintain records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with operational teams to understand service performance and reporting requirements.
- Support investigations into service issues, complaints, and operational trends.
- Liaise with internal departments and external partners where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within waste and recycling services.
