Head of Electrical Engineering – AI Factory Development

Pearson Carter are currently working with a global AI infrastructure company pioneering the development and operation of highly efficient AI infrastructure across Asia Pacific. Their proprietary AI Factory approach combines advanced liquid cooling, energy management, AI software orchestration, and next-generation data centre construction.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a Head of Electrical Engineering to lead the electrical engineering function across a growing global portfolio of AI Factory developments.

This is a principal-engineer-equivalent leadership role with responsibility for electrical engineering execution, technical governance, construction, commissioning, and handover across multiple sites.

You’ll lead a geographically distributed team across Australia, Indonesia, and future operating regions, working closely with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations leadership.

Responsibilities:
Lead electrical engineering execution across the AI Factory portfolio
Own technical governance, design assurance, and deviation management
Oversee MV/LV distribution, UPS, generation, protection, earthing, and power quality
Lead tender reviews, FAT, commissioning, and handover activities
Maintain electrical standards, templates, and change-control processes
Work closely with Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and engineering teams
Lead and develop distributed electrical engineering teams across multiple countries
Engage with utilities, regulators, vendors, consultants, and EPC contractors

Experience:
12 years electrical engineering experience
Strong Data Centre / mission-critical infrastructure background
Deep MV/LV power systems expertise
Strong experience across UPS, generation, protection, relay coordination, and earthing
Experience with load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, and transient analysis
Proven leadership across multi-site or international programmes
Experience with design governance, commissioning, and technical assurance
Strong understanding of APAC electrical standards and operating environments
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred)
Strong commercial, communication, and stakeholder management skills
