Dynamics 365 Business Central Senior Developer – Hybrid UK

Pearson Carter are working with a leading Microsoft Partner based in Northamptonshire, specialising in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV. With over 19 years of experience, they have built a strong reputation for delivering effective Dynamics solutions that provide real value to their clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Central/NAV Developer to join a growing, close-knit team in a highly autonomous role. You will work across Business Central development, customisations, integrations and technical design, with the opportunity to lead and mentor other developers within a flat and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and NAV customisations and extensions
• Develop using AL, C/AL and Visual Studio Code
• Work closely with functional consultants and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Produce technical designs and development documentation
• Build integrations with third-party systems and internal applications using APIs and web services
• Support projects involving the conversion of C/AL customisations to AL
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across multiple environments
• Support Business Central upgrades, data migrations and new functionality deployments
• Apply Business Central best practices across source control, testing and DevOps
• Lead and support development projects from a technical perspective
• Mentor and guide junior developers where required
• Work autonomously while contributing to the wider development team

Experience:

• 8 years' experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV development
• 5 years' experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and AL
• Strong experience with both AL and C/AL development
• Experience using Visual Studio Code and Git
• Strong understanding of Business Central architecture and Extension v2
• Strong knowledge of event-driven programming within Business Central
• Previous experience converting C/AL customisations to AL
• Experience working with APIs, web services and integrations
• Strong understanding of financial and operational business processes, including Finance, Warehousing and Inventory
• Experience producing technical designs is essential
• Previous experience leading or mentoring a development team is highly desirable
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform
• Experience with Power Automate
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Functional Business Central experience
• Experience working within a Microsoft Dynamics Partner environment
• Experience leading a small development team
• Experience working across Business Central upgrades and implementations

Salary & Location

£60,000 – £70,000

Hybrid – Northamptonshire
