Brisbane, Queensland Up to 180,000 Super

Pearson Carter is working with a globally recognised design and consulting organisation seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join its Brisbane technology team.

You will play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s AWS and Azure environments, supporting major cloud migration and modernisation initiatives. The position offers exposure to large-scale global projects and regular collaboration with engineering teams across multiple countries.

• Build, maintain and optimise infrastructure across AWS and Azure.

• Design secure cloud networking solutions involving VPCs, VNets, routing, DNS, VPNs and private connectivity.

• Manage firewalls, security groups and wider cloud security controls.

• Develop and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code using AWS CDK and TypeScript.

• Contribute to cloud migration and platform modernisation programs.

• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure.

• Monitor cloud platforms, investigate technical issues and improve reliability.

• Work closely with engineering and technology teams across international locations.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Five or more years of commercial cloud engineering experience with AWS and/or Azure.

• Strong cloud networking knowledge across VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing, DNS and hybrid connectivity.

• Experience configuring firewalls and network security controls, preferably Palo Alto.

• Practical experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code.

• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or Jenkins.

• Scripting capability using Python, Bash or PowerShell.

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

The following would be advantageous:

• AWS or Microsoft Azure certifications.

• Experience working across multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.

• Knowledge of zero-trust security, private networking and network segmentation.

• Hands-on experience with AWS CDK, Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor or Prometheus.

• Salary package of up to 180,000 super, depending on experience.
