Pearson Carter are supporting a well-established regional law firm with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality legal services to a diverse client base of businesses, individuals and organisations. The firm places significant importance on maintaining strong client relationships while continuing to develop its people, technology and internal infrastructure.

As part of its ongoing investment in technology, the business is looking to appoint an experienced .NET and Power Platform Developer to play a key role in the development, support and improvement of its core systems. The role will involve working across Microsoft Power Platform, VisualFiles, Microsoft 365, .NET, SQL and a range of external integrations.

You will be responsible for developing reliable technology solutions, improving existing applications and automating processes that support the firm's day-to-day operations. Working alongside internal IT teams and business stakeholders, you will have the opportunity to influence how technology is used across the organisation and take ownership of a variety of technical projects.

This would suit an experienced developer or IT systems professional who enjoys working across multiple technologies and wants a role where their technical expertise can have a direct impact on the wider business.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and enhance solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
  • Administer and develop VisualFiles workflows, forms, templates, scripts and associated data.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and implement solutions that improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between internal applications, Microsoft 365, VisualFiles, Power Platform and external services.
  • Provide development and technical support for .NET-based applications and business systems.
  • Investigate application, database and integration issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective fixes.
  • Plan and carry out system testing, deployment and release activities while maintaining appropriate technical documentation.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
  • Lead or contribute to application upgrades, system enhancements and wider technology projects.
  • Ensure solutions follow appropriate security, development and quality standards.
  • Maintain awareness of existing systems and dependencies to help ensure changes are delivered safely and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider IT team and contribute ideas towards future technology improvements.
Experience
  • Proven experience developing, maintaining or supporting business-critical applications and technology platforms.
  • Practical experience using Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Previous experience with VisualFiles, case management software or another workflow-based business application.
  • Solid understanding of SQL, databases and data structures.
  • Experience developing or maintaining integrations using REST APIs, Dataverse or comparable technologies.
  • Knowledge of .NET and C#, or experience working with a similar object-oriented programming language.
  • Background in application support, technical troubleshooting, testing and controlled deployments.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle principles, source control and structured development practices.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and deliverable solutions.
  • Comfortable managing technical tasks or projects from initial requirements through to implementation.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, with a methodical approach to resolving technical problems.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with both technical colleagues and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Able to organise workloads effectively while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience working within a legal, professional services or similarly regulated environment would be advantageous.
Salary

Salary is dependent on experience and looking to go up to £55k.

Location

This is a hybrid role where you are expected in the office in Dudley twice a week.
