Corporate Health & Safety Officer needed in Maidstone Paying  £25 per hr ref OR115825

Full time hours on a temporary basis

• Key Responsibilities

• Provide competent health and safety advice to managers, employees, elected members, and contractors.
• Support the development, implementation, and review of corporate health and safety policies, procedures, and guidance.
• Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated regulations.
• Undertake workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments across council services and sites.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain and monitor corporate health and safety management systems and performance indicators.
• Deliver health and safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions.
• Support managers in undertaking and reviewing risk assessments and safe working procedures.
• Advise on contractor management, construction projects, CDM compliance, and procurement-related health and safety matters.
• Prepare reports, statistics, and performance updates for senior management and corporate governance boards.
• Assist with emergency planning, business continuity, and health and safety compliance projects.
• Promote continuous improvement and a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.
