Job Description:
Pearson Carter are working with a leading UK organisation that is investing heavily in its data function and looking to strengthen its internal analytics capability. They are seeking an experienced Senior Data Strategist / Analyst to help turn data into meaningful insight and support better decision-making across the organisation.
This position offers a mixture of strategic and technical responsibility. You’ll work closely with teams across the business to understand their data needs, improve reporting and analytics, strengthen data governance and help develop the organisation’s wider data landscape.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working across Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse and Dynamics 365, while also being comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and shaping data processes and standards.
The successful candidate will receive a salary of up to £50,000, predominantly remote working and the opportunity to have a genuine impact on the organisation's data strategy.
The Role- Help shape and deliver the organisation's wider data and analytics roadmap.
- Work with business teams to understand challenges, requirements and opportunities for using data more effectively.
- Turn complex datasets into clear reports, dashboards and actionable business insight.
- Build and maintain Power BI reporting solutions, including semantic models and advanced DAX.
- Develop data solutions within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
- Improve how data is collected, integrated, transformed and made available for analysis.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues across different systems and sources.
- Establish consistent definitions, measures and reporting standards across the organisation.
- Support effective data governance, security, lineage and ownership.
- Work with data from Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Microsoft 365, Azure and external platforms.
- Help monitor and improve Microsoft Fabric capacity and associated costs.
- Use statistical techniques, predictive analysis and machine learning where they can provide additional value.
- Lead requirements gathering, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions with stakeholders.
- Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Previous experience working as a Senior Data Analyst, Data Strategist, BI Analyst or similar.
- Strong practical knowledge of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Excellent understanding of Power BI data modelling, DAX and visualisation.
- Experience working with Microsoft Dataverse and Dynamics 365 data.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, semantic models, data quality and data lineage.
- Experience delivering data solutions from initial requirements through to reporting and insight.
- Understanding of data integration across Microsoft and third-party platforms.
- Experience monitoring or managing Microsoft Fabric capacity and costs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts to a range of stakeholders.
- Confident gathering requirements and translating business problems into practical data solutions.
- Exposure to statistical analysis, predictive modelling or machine learning.
- Strong time management and the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously.
- Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification.
- Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification.
- Azure Data Engineer Associate certification.
- Experience using R, RStudio or similar analytical platforms.
- Microsoft Customer Voice experience.
- Background working within the charity sector.
- Agile delivery experience.
- Knowledge of governance, architecture and security within Dataverse and Power Platform.
- Understanding of GDPR and data protection.
- Experience delivering workshops or training to users and stakeholders.
