Group Accountant needed in Hengoed

This is a temporary role and the rate is £24.46ph PAYE

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of comprehensive Revenue, Capital and Treasury accountancy services, ensuring all financial operations, statutory returns and corporate processes are completed accurately, on time and in line with regulatory and professional standards. They will coordinate key corporate activities including final accounts, budget preparation, budget monitoring and capital year‑end processes, providing clear financial insight and guidance to managers and budget holders.

They will oversee VAT and CIS compliance, control account reconciliations, trust fund administration and the effective operation, structure and security of the corporate ledger. They will supervise daily Treasury Management activities, making informed investment and borrowing decisions, and ensure banking, reconciliation and petty cash arrangements operate efficiently and securely. Through strong leadership, they will manage and develop the team, uphold HR and organisational policies, maintain high‑quality financial governance, and ensure the ledger and associated systems support accurate reporting, robust decision‑making and effective financial management across the organisation.
