Senior Full Stack Developer up to £90,000 Remote

Pearson Carter are currently working with an innovative technology company developing immersive, interactive virtual learning environments. Their platform combines web technology and Virtual Reality to create engaging experiences with significant applications across both the Education and Healthcare sectors.

They are now looking for a talented Senior Full Stack Developer to join their engineering team and contribute to the continued development of their platform, editor and supporting cloud services.

Responsibilities:

• Build and deliver new functionality across the core platform and React-based editor, supporting web, desktop and cloud/edge environments
• Develop solutions using modern React and Node.js technologies
• Produce high-quality, scalable and maintainable code with a strong focus on performance and reliability
• Work alongside designers, Unity developers and other technical teams within an Agile environment
• Contribute to technical discovery, sprint planning, roadmap discussions, demonstrations and retrospectives
• Evaluate technical challenges and contribute to architectural decisions and system improvements
• Diagnose and resolve application and API issues across both local and cloud-based environments
• Improve the performance, reliability and security of applications and services
• Contribute to the evolution of the platform as new technologies and use cases are introduced

Experience:

• Strong commercial experience with React and Node.js
• Practical exposure to AI technologies, such as LLMs, prompt engineering, AI APIs, integrations, RAG or orchestration frameworks
• Understanding of modern AI development concepts including agentic architectures or MCP would be advantageous
• Good working knowledge of Python
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQLite
• Knowledge of ORMs, ideally TypeORM
• Experience with Docker, containerisation and AWS
• Strong understanding of software development principles, architecture and API development
• Comfortable working collaboratively within Agile development teams

Desirable Experience:

• Electron development
• Material UI (MUI) and/or Storybook
• Experience working with Unity, WebGL or other interactive technologies
• Previous exposure to Virtual Reality, immersive technology or interactive learning platforms

Salary

They offer a strong overall package with a base salary of up to £90,000, depending on experience.

Location

This is a fully remote position, although candidates must be based within the UK. The company also has an office available for employees who prefer to work collaboratively from a physical location.
