As the organisation continues to modernise and enhance its technology environment, they are seeking an experienced IT Developer to take responsibility for developing, maintaining and improving a range of business-critical applications and systems.
You will work across a diverse technology stack, with exposure to Microsoft Power Platform, VisualFiles, Microsoft 365, .NET, SQL and third-party integrations. The successful candidate will help deliver new solutions, enhance existing applications, automate business processes and provide technical support across key systems.

Responsibilities- Develop, configure and maintain business applications using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
- Manage and enhance VisualFiles environments, including workflows, forms, templates, scripts and related functionality.
- Assess existing business processes and recommend opportunities for automation, optimisation and improved system functionality.
- Build and maintain connections between internal systems, Microsoft 365, VisualFiles, Power Platform and external applications.
- Support the development and ongoing maintenance of applications written using .NET and C#.
- Work with SQL databases to retrieve, manipulate and maintain data, as well as investigate and resolve database issues.
- Analyse application and integration faults, identify root causes and implement effective technical solutions.
- Develop and execute appropriate testing processes before changes are introduced into live environments.
- Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation relating to applications, integrations, workflows and system changes.
- Work with stakeholders and end users to capture business requirements and turn them into effective technology solutions.
- Take ownership of assigned development projects, application upgrades and system enhancement initiatives.
- Work alongside the wider IT function to ensure business applications remain stable, secure and fit for purpose.
- Review existing systems and proactively suggest improvements to functionality, performance, automation and usability.
- Assist with the ongoing evolution of the firm's application estate as new technologies and business requirements emerge.
- Demonstrable experience developing, maintaining or supporting business applications in a professional or commercial organisation.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Experience working with VisualFiles, legal case management software or another enterprise workflow/application platform.
- Good knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience integrating applications and services using APIs, Dataverse, REST or similar technologies.
- Working knowledge of C# and .NET, or a strong background in another object-oriented programming environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate issues spanning applications, databases, integrations and data.
- Experience taking software changes through appropriate development, testing and deployment processes.
- Understanding of source control, development methodologies and software engineering best practices.
- Comfortable working with users and stakeholders to establish requirements, investigate problems and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Ability to organise and prioritise a mixture of development work, application support and project activity.
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters to colleagues with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Experience within the legal sector, professional services or another highly regulated industry would be beneficial.
Salary is dependent on experience and looking to go up to £60k.
LocationThis is a hybrid role where you are expected in the office in Dudley twice a week.
