Planning Locum Solicitor needed in Nottingham

This is a temporary role and the rate is £60.00ph PAYE

The successful candidate will bring substantial expertise in planning law, offering confident, in‑person advice to Planning Committee on procedure, material considerations, conditions, reasons for refusal, and the risks associated with appeal and costs. They will demonstrate strong familiarity with the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, the NPPF, section 106 agreements and relevant constitutional and procedural frameworks, ensuring all guidance is legally robust and clearly communicated.

They will review officer reports ahead of each meeting, identify and address any legal issues with case officers, and participate in pre‑meeting briefings to support effective decision‑making. They will attend evening Committee sessions as required, managing preparation time in the days beforehand, and will be ready to commence work promptly to provide continuity across upcoming Committee dates with the potential for extension.
