Principal Health & Safety Consultant needed in Bristol  £400 per day ref 5307691

Part time hours on a temporary basis

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, motivate, and develop a team of Health & Safety professionals to deliver an effective and prioritised work programme.
• Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Health & Safety Management System using the Plan-Do-Check-Act framework.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety legislation, policies, procedures, and best practice.
• Act as the lead advisor on Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations, ensuring compliance across housing construction, repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment projects.
• Support managers and operational teams in fulfilling their health and safety responsibilities and maintaining legal compliance.
• Undertake specialist risk assessments including HAVS, noise, and operational hazards, supporting managers through the risk assessment process.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, ensuring reporting requirements are met and corrective actions implemented.
• Lead health and safety projects and initiatives, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and objectives.
• Monitor contractor compliance and provide health and safety support throughout procurement, mobilisation, contract management, and review processes.
• Analyse performance data, identify trends, prepare reports, and provide recommendations to senior management to improve safety performance.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and monitoring activities, ensuring corrective actions are tracked and completed.
