Senior Mechanical Engineer - Robotics / CAD Software / Solidworks / PTC / ISO10218 / ISO/TS 15066

We are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Robotics for my client in the Munich area of Germany.

My client operates within the Robotics domain and as an Senior Mechanical Engineer for Robotics you will be responsible developing mechanics for a collaborative robot arms with torque controlled joints (plus other robotic products) working with suppliers and consultants on sub-module and component development, plus managing the manufacture and assembly of prototypes and small series.

Essential skills

•     Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or mechatronics

•     8+ years of experience in the mechanical development of robots or other complex products

•     Demonstrated ability in all phases of mechanical development

•     Structured and system-oriented thinking

•     Demonstrated ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams

•     Experience with CAD software, Solidworks and PTC Creo (preferred)

Desired skills

•     Master’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or mechatronics

•     Solid understanding of product and system development processes, especially the V-cycle

•     Familiarity with QA activities

•     Familiarity with relevant industrial robotics standards ( ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066)

•     Experience working with electrical drives with integrated electronics

•     Previous exposure to large-volume production, including procurement and manufacturing

•     Experience in leading a group

•     Experience in product lifecycle sustainability

•     Knowledge of German
