Job Description:

Our client is a renowned large-scale provider of Engineering Procurement and Construction services specialising in the installation of industrial scale roof top and ground mount solar PV projects.

They are searching for an HSSE professional to join their growing team in order to support the Director of Projects in all operational aspects of Health and Safety as well as providing support to the Project Services function.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Projects in all operational aspects of Health and Safety as well as providing support to the Project Services function.
  • Supporting the organisation in their achievement of a positive Health and Safety culture.
  • Support in the recording and monitoring of accidents, incidents, near misses, etc in conjunction with the Construction Manager.
  • Value accuracy and automation; an inbuilt desire to continually improve systems by exploiting software capabilities.
  • Assist the Director of Projects in maintaining Health and Safety culture within the business.
  • Provide administrative support across a broad spectrum of tasks focused on but not limited to HSSE.
  • Monitoring contractors across the business, administrating risk assessments, liaising with first aiders, ordering PPE and recording minutes, booking training for the team.
  • Drafting Construction Phase Plans, H&S Files, RAMS.
  • Maintain approved contractor database.
  • Occasional site visits.
  • Issuing and reviewing pre-qualification questionnaires.
  • Submit HSE mandated documents.
  • Updating and day to day management of Health and Safety procedures and policies.
  • Monthly HSSE reporting.
  • Draft a variety of construction related documentation in support of Project Services, with suitable guidance and mentoring.
  • Developing automation of report management and updates.

 

Requirements         

  • Sound understanding of UK H&S legislation and good practice
  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualification (desirable)
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as required
  • Enthusiasm, organisational, analytical with problem solving skills with a positive and flexible attitude to work being reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable working in a pressurised environment and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills are critical to this role specifically MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data base management to create graphical reports
  • Full clean drivers licence
