Profectus Recruitment is partnered with an established start-up who is recruiting for a hands-on Head of Engineering on a permanent basis. This role would be extremely well suited to someone who has start-up environment or Product/Platform based experience. This is a remote position with fortnightly travel to London required for collaborative team sessions.

Since establishing themselves in their field the business has grown from strength to strength and the platform they have developed has been hugely successful in their market space. The client is looking for someone with great leadership, people and technical experience to take them and the team to the next level.

The platform they have developed has been built mainly using Python so having recent hands-on experience with Python would be hugely beneficial. If you are an expert in another field but have a solid interest in working with Python moving forward this can be considered also providing you have the right mind-set to adapt and lead a team mainly using Python. In addition the client is looking for someone with solid Systems Architecture experience. The role requires you to have strong people skills and having the ability to lead and direct on all things technical whilst remaining partially hands-on. You will be given the responsibility to lead on all technical decisions and communicate with stakeholders what benefit change can have for the platform and product.

• Strong systems architecture experience
• Good understanding of Data Security and its importance
• Modern web development best practice experience
• Proven experience leading on important technical decisions/changes
• Cloud technology experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Technical skills required;

• Extensive experience with Python or similar language
• Front-end experience – React or Redux
• Infrastructure experience
