Governance Scrutiny and Members support Manager needed n Bradford £23.77ph ref 5170415

Full time hours on a temporary basis.

To manage, in liaison with the City Solicitor and Assistant City Solicitor (Democratic Services) , the provision and development of an efficient and effective service for the democratic decision making arrangements for Members, Officers of the Council and residents of the Bradford through meetings, Executive, Committees, Sub-Committees, Panels, Appeals Panels  and other bodies.  A lead role will be taken in the servicing of Council Meetings.

Ensure through effective governance the delivery of the democratic decision.

To undertake the statutory position of Scrutiny Officer as laid down in the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 and included at s9FB of the Local Government Act 2000.

The applicant is required to provide evidence of having previously spoken fluently to members of the public in order to meet the Advanced threshold level outlined under Special Knowledge above. 

Five years recent experience in a governance role 

Experience of working in a local government environment in a democratic services role.

At least 5 years recent experience of managing staff.
