Maritime Assistant needed in Truro £9.30ph ref 5171180

Full time hours on a temporary basis.

The postholder will be required to work 37 hours per week, which will include weekends during the busy summer season.  Actual days can be negotiable, but flexibility will be required to meet the needs to the service.

Working with the harbour master, the duties will include all aspects of running the harbour, from general maintenance, byelaw enforcement, collection of harbour dues and to be a point of contact for all harbour users.  This will be mainly based at Newquay but you may be required to assist within any of the Ports and Harbours of Truro, Penryn, Penzance, St Ives, Bude, Portscatho, Portreath, the Prince of Wales Pier and other maritime assets within Cornwall.

This is an interesting and varied post and we are looking for an enthusiastic person who can show a genuine interest in working within a marine environment.  You should have some prior experience of working within maritime industry, including marine maintenance, excellent customer care skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
