Housing Advice and Assessment Officer needed in Rotherham £13.21ph PAYE - Reference:442964

This role will involve:

• Provide housing options advice either through face to face, over the telephone, electronically and in the community through advice surgeries or home visits to enable people to exercise choice and select housing options and support services that are most suitable to their personal circumstances.
• Undertake Pre-Tenancy interviews with customers who are joining the housing register.
• Undertake a housing medical assessment to enable people to exercise choice and select options and support services that are most suitable to their personal circumstances.
• Manage and Interrogate mutual exchange solutions and databases to identify customers who are under- occupied and offer advice and support on matters of under-occupancy, mutual exchange, and transfers.
• Verify new and short-listed applications in accordance with the Allocation Policy to ensure housing applications are banded in accordance with the Allocation Policy and the applicant’s circumstances.

Ideally candidates will have:

• Level 6 qualification e.g. Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates and Diplomas, or Level 5 qualification e.g. Diplomas of HE and FE, foundation degrees and HNDs, plus experience in relevant areas of work over a period of years
• Or
• Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience
• Legislative knowledge in relation to the Housing Act 1996 V1 and V11, and an awareness of the Homeless Reduction Act. 

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
