Anatomical Pathology Technician needed in based in Uxbridge and the salary is £23.00ph PAYE

 This role will involve:

• To facilitate and organise formal viewings on behalf of HM Coroner and, when necessary, accompany and assist the bereaved in the viewing room in accordance with local standard operating procedures.
• Ensure that relatives and or those of the highest qualifying relationship are supported and treated with courtesy and consideration at all times.
• Maintain accurate paper and electronic database records in accordance with local and national retention and destruction policies.
• Undertake the role of an Anatomical Pathology Technician (APT) for the purpose of receiving, storing, undertaking a post-mortem examination on and releasing the deceased in line with policy and best practice, and in support of the HM Coroner, Pathologists and Police Forensic Investigators.
• On the request of the pathologist and HM Coroner retained, document, pack, send and store relevant material and other exhibits in line with best practice and local procedures.
• Assisting the pathologist by performing external examinations, recording data and notes
• Assist with the preparation of bodies for post-mortem, viewings, formal identifications, removal by funeral director in line with best practice and operating procedures.
• Carry out the cleaning and sterilisation of equipment, instruments, the post-mortem suite and ancillary accommodation.
• To ensure all operational areas, equipment and sundries are prepared and available for all types of examinations.
• To maintain equipment on a day to day basis in accordance with the services policies/ procedures and in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.

Ideally candidates will have;

• Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Certificate of Anatomical Pathology Technology
• Or
• The RSPH Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology.
