Connecting Talent to opportunity

Application Support Engineer

Expired

Job Description:

Package: £35k - £45k + training + flexible working + 23 days holiday
Ideal candidate: Someone with 2 years + previous T-SQL and/or .NET based Application Support experience, looking for better working culture and long term career opportunities!

A lot of application support roles aren’t what they seem.  You think you’re signing up to be a developer in training, or at the very least to spend your days resolving complicated technical problems using your developing programming skills.  But instead you’re logging tickets, filling in paperwork or dealing with irate customers on the phone!

This is different.  This company have created 3 new Application Support Developer roles precisely because their developers are spending too much time resolving application issues and modifying code at the cost of developing new systems designed to take the company forward.

The Development Manager is keen to stress that these roles are technically focused, with a potential pathway into the development team for prospects keen to pursue a career in software development.  Equally, if you are happy working as an Application Support Engineer and never becoming a developer, then they still want to hear from you, as they are keeping an open mind – it's all about the person and attitude with these guys!

The role will involve working with a highly talented development team, supporting the applications they develop and proactively resolving application issues.  You will be technically adept at T-Sql and perhaps have some basic C# or Javascript skills, though any programming skills (such as Powershell, Python or Java) will be considered.

If you only have SQL and no real programming experience, then we can still consider you as long as you make up for the lack of programming languages in years of experience in a structured, busy application environment.

The best thing about working at this company is that they believe in technology and as such they aren’t scared to invest in new technology and developing their people.  It’s a refreshing change from a lot of companies who try and save costs by investing the absolute minimum in their IT team!

The role is paying between £35k - £45k depending on your experience and skills, along with a flexible benefits package.
