Registration and Ceremonies Officer needed in Chelsea

This is a temporary contract initially paying £19.73ph PAYE

The reference number is:                   5293260

We currently have two full‑time positions available, along with several zero‑hours contracts to provide flexible cover for weekends, holidays, and other peak periods.

The successful candidate will carry out the full range of statutory registration duties for births, deaths, still‑births, marriages, civil partnerships, and related conversions across the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. They will attest notices, deliver non‑statutory services such as nationality and settlement checking, and maintain accurate administrative and financial records.

They will apply comprehensive knowledge of registration, data protection, citizenship, and immigration legislation, deputising as required as a deputy registrar, deputy superintendent registrar, and civil partnership registrar.

The role includes assessing medical certificates, identifying cases requiring referral to the Coroner, and providing informed advice on re‑registrations, corrections, marital status, parental responsibility, and immigration matters, referring or authorising cases in line with statutory powers.
